Welcome to the month of April. By the time you are reading this, you will be deep into it. That means I can’t play any April Fool jokes on you. Never been a fan of those anyway. At the cost of sounding like an old stick-in-the-mud I always found it a bit “eye rolling” but, that has never kept me from playing along anyway.
Another BIG deal in April is TAX day! Yep! Deadlines for filing those personal income tax returns. We get a slight reprieve this year as the FED is giving us until May 17th to file. I don’t think most people mind paying taxes as long as they are being put to good use. I think it’s the perception of waste that bothers most citizens.
Both days mentioned above are conversation starters for sure. One full of funny stories, the other maybe not so much. There are few days more memorable than the day you buy your dream home. That day is supposed to be fun, exciting and a great feeling of accomplishment.

Why I Give to Candlelighters:
I was introduced to the Candlelighters organization from a colleague of mine 7 years ago. She has been passionately working with them for close to 20 years and shared with me some of the amazing experiences and stories of the children and families that she had the pleasure of meeting over the years.
I must admit, her passion is really what got me interested in finding-out more about the work that candlelighters has been doing. As I started my research, I was just overwhelmed by the numerous challenges that these families must deal with and think about aside from the unimaginable grief and worry they endure while their child suffers from Cancer.
